On most Saturdays we go to the Farmer's Market and then to breakfast at Big, Bad Breakfast or IHOP. Today, since the students are back and the roads will be in gridlock, we decided to chill at GG's. We had our Cheerios and bananas and stayed in our PJs for most of the morning. There's a small storm going on outside right now and one of the umbrellas has blown away, but other than that, it's quite nice. We're having some ice cream and enjoying a little relief from the heat.
Today I took Caroline for her first tumbling class at Oxford Cheer & Tumble. She was very excited to go "flip" and "play" before we got there, but I think she thought GG was going to "flip" and "play" with her. When she found out that was not the case, she withered a bit. Her fingers went in her mouth, which is what happens when she's faced with a situation she's not familiar with. They stayed there for the first 10 minutes of the 30 minute class, but once the music started and she heard "Down by the station early in the morning.....", (a song she is very familiar with) she loosened up considerably and began to "flip" and "play" and jump and run and roll.... she had fun. Still, I believe her favorite part was getting the sucker at the end (she doesn't get much candy).
